Army Class A questions?
I need my Class As for a wedding in which I am going to be a groomsman. I got the Army Achivment Medal that comes with a ribbon, medal, and a little glass like pin. Which do I wear? Do I wear one on my Stetson? And do I wear my spurs on my class A shoes? What color spurs do I wear?
And does a person in a Cavalry unit wear a rope? I don't think so, But I have heard different.
Sorry, I don't know any of this haha. Last time I wore my Class As (my wedding) I only had 2 ribbons. Fresh out of Basic!
Thanks (=
But I see different colored Ropes. Why is that?
And do I wear Medals or the Ribbon counterpart?
Unfortunately you will not be able to wear spurs or slouch hat (Stetson) in Class A uniform unless the wedding is being held at the Chapel on Cav country. However, if the wedding is made up of mostly Soldiers from the Can it would be OK. It's not like the MPs are going to be checking out churches in the suburbs. But...if you're the only Cav Soldier in attendance skip the hat and spurs. You don't want to look out of place, the attention is supposed to be on the bride, but a Soldiers wear a cowboy hat.
You will wear the rectangular ribbon version of the AAM.
Cav Soldiers don't wear a shoulder rope, only Infantry Soldiers do this, they wear the blue cord.
**EDIT: If you're looking at a catalog or website you see different colored ropes because different organizations use them. In the Navy Black ropes are work by the Honor Guard. JROTC units will sometimes wear their school colors ropes. Some soldiers like to buy stuff just to have it. Branch colored ropes are forbidden for everyone except Infantry.
You wear the ribbon counterpart, not the medals.
